We collect several types of information from and about users of our Services, including:

A. Personal Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Registration: When you register an account on BetRent (as a landlord or a tenant), we collect your name, email address, phone number, and account credentials.
  • Property Listings & Landlord Content: If you list a property for rent, we collect information about the property (e.g., location, rental price, amenities, description) and any photos or videos you upload to demonstrate the property.
  • Landlord Verification Data: To protect our community from fraud and ensure accountability, we verify the phone numbers of landlords who post properties using a One-Time Password (OTP) process.
  • Communications: When you contact other users (landlords or tenants) through the App's messaging features, or when you contact our customer support, we collect the content of those communications and any associated metadata.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and Usage Information: We automatically collect device data such as your IP address, device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, and details about your activity within the App (e.g., searches, views, feature clicks, and crash reports).
  • Location Information: With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location data from your mobile device (via GPS, cellular networks, or Wi-Fi). This data is used to show nearby rental properties on the map, provide search filters based on your location, and compute distances to properties. You can enable or disable location tracking in your mobile device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate, support, and improve BetRent, including:

  • To enable tenants to search for, filter, and view property listings on the map.
  • To enable landlords to list, manage, and advertise their properties.
  • To facilitate messaging and communications between tenants and landlords.
  • To verify the identity of landlords and listings to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • To monitor, analyze, and optimize app performance, stability, and user experience.
  • To send transactional updates, push notifications, and administrative updates.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share your information in the following situations:

  • Public Listing Information: Property listings, description, photos, and landlord contact details (as specified by the landlord) are public and visible to all users of the App.
  • With Other Users: When a tenant initiates a chat with a landlord, the tenant's profile information (name, profile photo) is shared with the landlord to facilitate communication.
  • Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us with hosting, mapping APIs (e.g. Google Maps), push notification delivery, and database operations. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and only use it to perform tasks on our behalf.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authorities to comply with legal processes or protect the rights, property, and safety of BetRent, our users, or others.

4. Security of Your Data

We use commercial-grade security measures and protocols (including encryption of data in transit and secure database storage) designed to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


5. Your Choices & Data Deletion Request

We support your rights to control your personal data. You have the following choices:

  • Location Access: You can grant or withdraw permission for location services at any time via your device settings.
  • Notification Preferences: You can manage push notification preferences in the App settings or your device system settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not designed or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it from our servers immediately.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates.
